We have made a distribution of program information to area high schools in an effort to increase admissions. Have not gotten  any response as yet. We are meeting to discuss this and what we will do, continue information effort in different area, like pediatric doctors, or do something different. Team is still excited about the efforts. ckeebaugh

First PDSA April 7, 2006

Two weeks ago the Vanguard program for adult women with children implemented its first PDSA with the aim to increase admissions. The program is sending an e-mail to its funding sources weekly reporting the number of beds available. The problem is collecting e-mail addresses to add to the distribution list, as the program was never one to use the computer. However, the distribution list is being added to slowly and our marketing and admissions department is helping. They are also part of the change team. We’ve sent out the availability e-mail only twice now and it is a little to early to tell of any impact. I can say we have not had any responses to it that we know of, but the distribution list needs to be expanded.

CEUs for CLA April 5, 2006

The NIATx National Program Office will apply for CEUs from the Wisconsin Certification Board by the end of the week. The Board then takes between 6-8 weeks to review the application and decide whether to grant CEUs to our program.  Therefore, we should know by the end of May whether or not the Change Leader Academy will receive certification.  Once I receive the confirmation of certification, I will send a letter and the certificate of completion of the CEUs to all who asked for them.

Given the feedback I have received, we will apply for Clinical Supervisor and Counselor Recertification CEUs.  If you would like CEUs and have not already contacted me, please send me an email (mehribar@chsra.wisc.edu) specifying the type of CEUs you would like to receive.

Some movement on the SRS implementation April 4, 2006

In receipt of the resources from previous post, I am moving forward with my team and going to implement the SRS. (conference call with 2 resources on friday 4-7 re. just how they have done it and just to get pointers).  Due to a vacation, I will be implementing on April 17 for 3-4 week trial.  Will track sessions and hope to see increased session rating and hope that it translates into increased retention to graduation.  With the short term trial, AND due to the fact that my "program" is 4-6 month, I will be making some leaps…but I hope to see some good info.
